Oops sorry MAPP day pupils - I have only just had chance to write a post about our super day in Winchester earlier this month. 20 year 8 pupils travelled to Winchester to have a tour around the Cathedral and had a interesting view of the Cathedral ceiling!
They spent the afternoon at a banner making workshop and next half term they will become the teachers as they will be in charge of Year 5 pupils when they make Advent banners! Tell me what you thought of the day if you went or tell me what sort of other MAPP days you would like to see.
Year 8 pupils have been learning about the concept of the Trinity and to help them they ate a Twix bar! After discussing how the wrapper was a reminder of Jesus (gold - gift for a king, red - blood He shed, white - purity). Whilst enjoying the chocolate they discussed the fact that it is one bar (Supreme God), which is made up of three separate things (chocolate, biscuit and caramel) that can be enjoyed (and understood) together or separately. Pupils then thought of other analogies to explain this 3 in 1 concept ranging from a meal (starter, main course and sweet) to pizza (base, tomato and topping). Who said R.E. was boring!!
This week Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 have taken part in our half termly Special Act of Service. It followed our theme of the week which was 'Food for Thought' and pupils heard one of Jesus' Parables as well as learning about Harvest today. Tell me what you thought by leaving a comment below - I would love to hear what you think of this time to be quiet and reflect.
I would like to welcome the new Years 6,7 and 8 back to Nodehill and a big hello to the new Year 5s. This is YOUR R.E. blog, you can use it to help you with subject knowledge, with your homework, to improve your work or just to have fun - there are loads of links to games!
Leave me a comment to tell me what you think about R.E., what you are looking forward to learning about this year or what you would like to learn about.
Year 6 pupils have been acting out the Good Samaritan, one of Jesus' parables. Have a look at some more on this link and write about one of them, in your own words.
Year 8 have been working extremely hard throughout this difficult unit. They are now busily preparing presentations of their learning and to help ensure they have included everything they need to get a good level they need to click on this link:

Another week walking through the New Testament has seen a fantastic, if not hairy, John the Baptist (Reece 6KG) and a few stories of Jesus being tempted by Satan and calming the storm. Have a look at how the Brick Testament have told these stories and let me know what you have learnt.
