BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Winchester Cathedral

Oops sorry MAPP day pupils - I have only just had chance to write a post about our super day in Winchester earlier this month.  20 year 8 pupils travelled to Winchester to have a tour around the Cathedral and had a interesting view of the Cathedral ceiling!

They spent the afternoon at a banner making workshop and next half term they will become the teachers as they will be in charge of Year 5 pupils when they make Advent banners!  Tell me what you thought of the day if you went or tell me what sort of other MAPP days you would like to see.

Twix = Trinity?!?

Year 8 pupils have been learning about the concept of the Trinity and to help them they ate a Twix bar!  After discussing how the wrapper was a reminder of Jesus (gold - gift for a king, red - blood He shed, white - purity). Whilst enjoying the chocolate they discussed the fact that it is one bar (Supreme God), which is made up of three separate things (chocolate, biscuit and caramel) that can be enjoyed (and understood) together or separately.  Pupils then thought of other analogies to explain this 3 in 1 concept ranging from a meal (starter, main course and sweet) to pizza (base, tomato and topping).  Who said R.E. was boring!!

Special Act of Service

This week Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 have taken part in our half termly Special Act of Service.  It followed our theme of the week which was 'Food for Thought' and pupils heard one of Jesus' Parables  as well as learning about Harvest today.  Tell me what you thought by leaving a comment below - I would love to hear what you think of this time to be quiet and reflect.
